Model 370-Series NTSC Frame-store System for Multiple Display General: Model 370-Series NTSC Frame-store System is designed to store NTSC pictures for displaying on multiple monitor screens at a later time. The number of pictures to be stored is as many as sixteen for the 1RU model (Model 370.04.00); forty for the 3RU model (Model 370.02.00). The number of pictures may be further expanded by increasing the number of modules (by increasing the size of the frame). Storage processing time is approximately 200ms/picture. Individual video-frame-data may be stored and all stored data are simultaneously read-out in a very short period. This is so that pictures within a short time can be displayed on multiple monitor screens all at once. This enables economical operation of a system that should open new fields of application. For example, continuous images capturing the motion of an object are stored, and each image is displayed on multiple monitor screens for side-by-side comparison. Incoming NTSC signals are converted into digital data, directly stored in, and retrieved from the memory. Since neither encoding in the storing process nor decoding in the retrieving process occurs, virtually no degradation of video signal is present. Quasi-NTSC incoming signals created by computer are also accepted. Control commands to specify the timing of storing pictures are to be given with RS232/422 and GPI interface. This makes operation of the system easy with control systems ranging from a simple push-button-control to a computer-control.
